This guide covers everyday use of Secure Document Sharing in Chrome after installing from the Chrome Web Store. For help or bug reports, see Support.

Set up your vault

  1. Open the extension from the Chrome toolbar (side panel).
  2. Choose Set Up Your Vault on first launch.
  3. Enter a strong passphrase (12+ characters). It never leaves your device.
  4. Confirm the passphrase and unlock the vault.

Your files, folders, and comments are encrypted locally with AES-256-GCM and Argon2id. Data stays in the browser (IndexedDB and extension storage) — Chrome profile sync does not copy vault contents to other computers.

Tip: Pro users can export an encrypted .sdsp profile backup to move a vault to another device with the same passphrase.

Upload files and folders

  • Use Upload to add files to the current folder.
  • Create subfolders with the folder-plus control in the tree.
  • Open a file to preview it in a new tab; previews stay encrypted at rest.

Files remain in your local vault until you add them to a bundle or export them manually.

Create and share encrypted bundles

  1. Select files or folders and add them to a bundle draft (package icon).
  2. Choose Create Bundle. The extension encrypts everything client-side.
  3. If Google Drive is connected, ciphertext is uploaded to your Drive (see below). You can also save the bundle file locally.
  4. Share the Drive link (or file) and the bundle key on separate channels. The link alone cannot decrypt the bundle.

Recipients open the receiver page in Chrome with the file ID or link plus the bundle key — they do not need a vault to unlock a bundle.

Connect Google Drive (optional)

Drive is only required when you publish bundles to your own Google account.

  1. Open Settings → Cloud.
  2. Click Connect Google Drive and complete Google sign-in.
  3. New bundles upload to a folder named Secure Document Share on your My Drive (created automatically).

Only ciphertext is stored on Drive. Filenames and keys stay out of the cloud. Recipients do not need Drive OAuth — they use the public link and bundle key.

Lock, unlock, and settings

  • Settings → Lock closes the vault; re-enter your passphrase to unlock.
  • Change theme and language under Settings.
  • Settings → Account → Help & feedback opens a pre-filled email to support@securiqon.com.

Security reminders

  • We do not receive your passphrase, vault keys, or file contents.
  • Store your passphrase safely — we cannot reset it.
  • Send bundle keys separately from Drive links (email, chat, phone, etc.).
